it looks like equity markets priced in a 75 basis point hike next week but if they hike only 50, gold will probably surge even higher
fed is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
they know they can't raise too hard otherwise there will be a hard landing and yes I think they realise their hands are tried wrt oil prices but at the same time they have to be seen to be doing something.
IMO Powell will wimp out and raise 50 bp ---> gold will be at $1900 by end of month
