We have from timber: I am mystified by the inflation concerns when deflation is the real threat.

Then we have his supporters say 'don't worry, inflation will monetise the debt'

Which is it?

Then I am told the US will print money to pay pay the debt but will NOT pay the debt

Which is it?

Then I am told in the 1830s it turned out ok so in the 2030s it will turn out ok

And I LOVED that old time fairy story how the govt only runs debt 'for a little while' to help the poor private sector in the bad times. Hmm. In Oz we have just spent a couple years in the great times and the govt ran huge debt
