That poor sod Herve Jaques who wrote that awfully muddled piece in Seeking Alpha about why he was shorting gold when it was at 1520s probably marked the bottom. It is a sure sign of a bottom when mugs like him feel the need to tell the world they're going short (oh, so clever am I!).
Skol will become a gold bull at some point - perhaps when foreign holders of Treasuries refuse to roll them over and gold has just hit 10,000. He'll finally get it that gold is just a scorecard of the health of the (unhealthy) banking system. Skol's bullishness will mark the beginning of the manic phase of panic buying as gold goes mainstream - and is widely purchased as insurance against risk of sovereign uncreditworthiness.
