Perhaps Im being too sophisticated in taking notice of closing prices on the New York exchange - but that I believe is where the smart money is. If you check out Kitco you will see that gold did not close above 386 till Friday, which is effectively a new breakout even though the intraday high price was the same as earlier. It's still above that level.
Having said that - I'm NOT long gold stocks!
