G'day Searcher2. I'm sure very few would disagree with what you have said. Quite frankly, what ICN does, or doesn't do, in the very near future, will be the determinant of their very future.
I take confidence that gas and the lack of its availability is finally getting a great deal of emphasis from the major analysts and institutions. We had Alan Fingle reporting to COAG last week, this was followed by a large article by Alan Kohler which I posted and today we have a report by Malcolm Roberts, the CEO of APP&EA which you can catch on Page 39 of today's Fin Review.
Gas will be a vital component not only from domestic demand but to meet our climate change targets, some say that our gas production and use as a replacement energy source will need to increase 5 fold to reach our 2030 target. Where will that come from?
That's where I see that APT855 must play a part and why I keep suggesting that Icon's major priority is to negotiate with Beach to get something happening again. Beach is the key and they have made their position clear that they will not be being proactive in the near future with APT855, so, that's where we will see what Icon management can come up with to put APT855 back into the ball game.
I'd be watching that space very closely.
APT594, IMO, is not Icon's main game, but, an extremely attractive gap filler with badly needed cash flow, but, APT855 in it's present condition, would have to be Icon's major priority. Not time to despair, yet.
