GC Developers are cranky because after living luxuriously thru the boom years they are now whinging like little bitches because no one wants their overpriced dogboxes anymore. Plus they are upset because the council have increased their charges and are tougher on their development plans. Boohoo how dare they!

Some parts of the GC is booming for instance criminal activity is a growth sector but if you happen to run a legit business you would be experiencing a few issues like lack of tourists and service industries going into receivership at an alarming rate and when one business goes there is a flow on effect to others who supply or rely on them

GC has very high water and general rates which adds to the burden of costs already high from over the top commercial and residential property rent

GC has always had a reputation as the party town for the young and cheap no amount of glossy advertising will ever change that image

If you are thinking of moving there or starting a business there my advice ... Think again!

Far better places in OZ than that basket case
