re: gold down dow up & the us$?
in the midst of all this, the greenback is firming. now I know both sides of the argument (& have presented them both) how gold goes up when the dollar goes down as against how gold & the dollar are now disassociated & gold can go its own merry way regardless.
and still feel deep down inside that in order for this gold & oil boom to have any real legs, we'll have to witness the much heralded collapse of the "fiat currency" with or without alan greenspan, regardless of interest rates, inflation, credit bubbles, deficit blowouts or whatever other factors make up the complicated equation of the US economy in the modern world.
put simply, amory will keep a close watch on - eventually - a falling greenback vs yen & euro. convinced that yer cain't have one without the other!
