There will be a cashless economy within a decade but it won't be driven by crypto currencies.
The demise of traditional currencies is a prediction some 500 years old. Not even close to realisation and gold will not be the savious no matter how many people spruik that theory.
Gold will plateau out again - maybe it will get to USD2,000 this time though it appears to be struggling a bit now.
