Fair comment drmb. What goes around, comes around!
But there are always two schools of thought and some hybrids in between, probably none are truly correct! Today, those of the belief that this is a bad deal are selling. That is their call. Tomorrow, someone or something may look at this reconfigured structure involving CQT and GF and recognise value that others have not.
The dust will settle in the near term and when it does, CQT will be back in favour. It is an exciting prospect and you can be assured of three things;-
1. CQT will know its position far quicker than had they gone it alone
2. The dimensions of this resource will be now known far sooner than had CQT gone it alone
3. The risk to CQT has been removed now to a significant degree
And in respect to point 2 above, the main unknown imo is that noone really knows the actual size of this resource. If the current findings are replicated in surrounding areas, it could end up being a $10 billion+ resource? We simply do not know this. At the end of the day, it is quite simply a mute point.
Time will be the best judge as to the merits of this deal but CQT shareholders imo are more likely to become wealthier sooner than later with GF there!!!!!!
