I'm in favour of a currency which removes any possibility of devious shenanighans, a currency that is not fiat but has is 'real value' built into it (not just denoting that it can be exchanged for something of real value).

Yes, back to the days when a metallic strip was in the paper note (though then it was for anti counterfeiting purposes), this time a 1 gram gold strip in the 100 note (does matter what the currency is if it has this), yes 1 gram in the 100, perhaps 1 gram silver in the 1 note.

so a ounce of gold would be worth 3110.35 regardless of the participating currency and takes into account the current inflation and manipulation.

Of course, those who will hate this the most are those who hate the idea of loopholes, and devious shenanighans being removed from the equation (which is exactly the core quality any reserve currency should have).
