Champ I think the peak in gold might be when the US dollar fails (70 % of world's currency currently) the movers and shakers of the world will come up with a new more globalized currency to replace it, may well be the US dollar again in a different form? When they do this they will back part of it with gold at a capped(?) price. This was done previously in recent history. So gold's peak would be whatever they cap the price at which will be much higher than now to equalize all the excess fiat paper that has been printed after the US was taken off the gold standard in 1971 by Nixon.
