So if global % ownership of gold has fallen from 1% to 5% over time isn't this indicative of a longer term demographic change?
What evidence suggests that will be different in the future?
Maybe the fall in ownership will accelerate rather than reverse?
He is correct in asserting that nothing stands in the way of an increase in ownership though.
Nothing stands in the way of increasing ownership of a lot of stuff... doesn't mean it will happen though.
Higher prices usually slow down demand, not spur it on. I think I learnt that in my first day at uni.
