Gone no where your statement makes no sense, US are stuck in aposition in what ever they do POG will increase

* Decrease interset rates -> create liquidity -> temporarily avoid dollar dropping -> hit inflation -> POG will increase as a hedge against inflation

* Let events unfold -> mass exodus of international funds to the US dollar -> recession -> GOLD will be teh reserve currency -> POG increases

the US is in a really bad state financially if you want a comparison to a previous period in time with similar fundamentals refer to the post vietnam war and the POG, very similar climate to the post IRAQ 2 period.
