Personally, if a mining company were building a mine in my local park I would want to make sure they control the pollution and visual impact too. SGZ has spent a year making a good plan even better to take those exact kind of concerns into account and then some.
As mentioned in the national papers over there the local and government support for the new plan is big and getting bigger. The economy in Europe meanwhile is getting worse and worse.
To deny this planning application would be akin to shooting one's self in the foot. It just wouldn't make sense.
Having said that, relying on others to act rationally can sometimes lead to dissappointment as I'm sure we have all experienced in our lifetimes.
I'm a big supporter of SGZ but we have to be honest with ourselves that there is some risk until we get that 'yes' vote.
