I hold BND (a coal play), and they released pretty much the same announcement a few months ago, and that was the last anyone heard of it. Share price has remained pretty much stagnant since.

I think it's just management's way of stopping the vague enquiries, and trying to force someone to show their hand. In this market, a lot of the big boys are trying to get themselves a bargain, and as such are making enquiries into any company that tickles their fancy.

I don't hold right now, but will be putting some serious thought into it over the next few hours.
