0110 GMT [Dow Jones] Barclays Capital raises gold price forecast, expects prices to
average $940/oz during 2009, $925 during 2Q. Says gold to shine on weak USD after Fed
announces further quantitative easing measures. But elevated prices have hit jewelry
demand. Turkey and India - key jewelry consuming countries - did not import any gold in
February. But for now, surge in investment demand more than compensates for shortfall in
jewelry demand. Build in investment demand shows little sign of slowing, but should
liquidations materialize, prices could correct further in near term before regaining
upward momentum. SPDR Gold Trust ETF bullion holdings jump overnight, now at record
1,103.29 tons as of March 19, up 18.96 tons on the day and up 34.24 this week alone as
investors fret over inflation pressures, ETF positions seen as more long-term
