You can't seriously believe the US will let their currency be absolutely crunched? Haven't you heard of exchange controls and fixed exchange rates and all sorts of private machinations to convince others to buy the US dollar if a fixed exchange rate is not brought in. It would be very easy to convince Australia that it was in its national interest to support the US dollar and so on and so on. Dont expect the US just to sit back and watch their currency go into free fall.
