That Zerohedge article is well worth the read.

One point about the build in inventories ..... if the economy does not absorb the inventories it leads very quickly to lay-offs and that build up of stock becomes dead money for a business [I have seen examples of companies with huge assets in terms of inventory go broke because their cash flow evaporated]

Secondly ....also courtesy of Zerohedge. The S&P in the US did OK overnight but the chart below highlights the small-caps segment .... speaks for itself imo.
