    Why are you so strongly objecting? When in fact, the US$ is backed by debt and gold is considered a real asset and a store of wealth.

    What is wrong with his satement is the implication that gold has an intrinsic value when in fact its value is derived from the laws of supply and demand except when fixed by law.
