I'm pleased you have been following GME's progress by reading their announcements and also going into Panoramics's activities, it tells me that you research the companies you invest in very thoroughly. I believe that GME is what some investors call a sleeping stock, no interest as yet but a small holding might prove worthwhile as a long termer.
As to the price of gold, well it's gradually creeping up, watching the news today when commodity prices are shown (and they only show gold and oil) gold as risen above $1200. Where will the price be throughout and at the end of 2015? No crystal ball but I don't think $1500 is out of the question should this increase be a slow and steady one.
Your last sentence I definitely agree with, and a logical thing to do.
