Nope the fat lady will keep singing on the US debt ceiling. It will get raised because the political will for a monetary reset is not there. We came close in 1996 and the United States federal government experienced shutdowns during the time... but it got raised eventually.

There will come a day when the monetary system is changed. It will not happen with bang but with a yawn from most of the worlds population. There was a time when I find this flawed system repulsive. These days I have come to accept it. Yes it has signs cracks but in the absence of an alternative and the constant lack of political will (and populace understanding of the systems issues) to do the right thing; it is the system we must all learn to live in. The powers that be will kick the can down the road... I don't mind. All the more reason to buy more gold and gold miners.

Tell you what though... The majority of the world population may not understand the monetary problems but they can feel it in their guts. Unfortunately not many are willing to go down to rabbit hole to find out.
