That's why those that are wary of fiat currency need to invest in other 'archaic' sorts of 'currency', ie: wheat, rice, whiskey, salt, sugar. Stuff with ridiculously long shelf lifes and all of it knives etc. Useful stuff that doesn't need to be converted into something else to realise it's value, but can be traded if needed.
I'm sure that you are aware of this already timber, but there are a lot of views on this forum that lack coherency. Indeed the less coherent the view; the more that people like it.
