watso is a bit long in the tooth, but when watso was working the remote parts of western australia, in his youth, longyear diamond drillers, did a bit of drilling around the place. who knows, they may again be in western australia, but they certainly disappeared for a while. from memory longyear did the diamond drilling at mining area c for goldsworthy associates

watso used to be a driller offsider , driller and drilling supervisor - but that is all in the distant past.

it is more that obvious as to why drilling costs may have trippled in western australia as there would be such a demand for drilling rigs - especially for iron ore drilling

watso has to scratch his head a bit, but maybe 30 years ago, percussion drilling (rc) was about $2 per meter (could even have been $1 per meter - but it is so long ago, that watso cannot really recall - but $2 would have been tops), and diamond drilling was about $10 per meter. last time watso looked at a contract (about 1 year ago), rc drilling was about $100 per meter. watso cannot recall the exact details of the contract, but in broad terms about 1500m of rc drilling cost about $150,000

sorry - back to kcn - watso simply thinks that kcn get more drilling done for $X than they would get in australia - but that fits in with the overall lower cost structure that kcn have
