You might be looking at the worng page of the book you are quoting from " Technical analysis ofthefinancial markets" by john j murphy. You must be looking at page 139 figure 6.4a as you are quoting the exact Du Pont chart from 1997. You might be right, but I'm thinking this is more the example on page 146 the bullish falling wedge... Just my thoughts.

But since you are interested in the formations, look at the weekly chart of BHP refer to page 148 - The bearish rising wedge. IMO there are many stocks showing bearish signs, but gold stocks showing Bullish signs as shown by adwebsters post last week, which was a beauty....

Just to quote Gann - "stocks can only advance significantly after a period of accumulation" IMO this is what is happening now, large volumes are being bought up with a break out to occur shortly, maybe tonight, but definitely this week. GOLD 1075 by April 23rd- 27th...
