Well put - it becomes self fulfilling as money is withdrawn from gold funds and etfs globally , these stocks will be sold down to meet redemptions causing further price falls and potentially becomes self fulfilling
Margins are going to be squeezed and thus future earnings estimates will come under pressure. Companies such as SLR who have spent a lot of capex will fair better , and those with projects still in the pipeline will be in trouble .
I think the current correction will throw up a few opportunities but when sentiment terms the price falls can be great . I will be waiting to see the quarterly , prod costs and how much cash they have before I consider reentering
