Hi All4One , I've seen Property prices stay stagnant for some years never seen a downturn especially in Sydney perhaps a downturn happened in the banana republic time period but hell all I remember is prices going northwood. for your experience you must be referring to regional perhaps coastal towns that do at times go thru various cycles and sensitive to economic conditions change be it rise in interest rates or downturn in the economy.

Anyway I found this in a leftist socialist paper (sometimes they have good articles) comparing London to the Aussie market and what London has done trying to provide housing affordability. , A good read . IMO key theme is supply.
