US is screwed, Fed and Powell are driven by politics and harsh reality that any rates increase will take their deficit interest payments sky high. If they have to raise rates to 5% that's a trillion a year in interest payments just to service current debt. Politics inflation is political kryptonite no president wants to touch it. Biden will have Powell keep rates low until after midterms to raise before then will surely see them lose the House and Senate.
