The pivot was the right call after his right hand man destroyed the shareprice on his way out. He had to do something and fooled investors with the dodgy Jaime acquisition. It was a masterstroke. Great volume and lots of stale holders had the opportunity to exit in the teens.
Unfortunately, he has chosen the path of near zero comms to shareholders and as you have mentioned, now he commands probably zero respect give or take a few that are balls deep here.
