The directors and every Geo that saw the structure of the veins new prior that this couldn't work. We keep hearing the bullshit mantra of "grade is king", total lie.
Look at A1 minerals now BTR- every geo knows the history of failure of Brightstar, Beta, Alpha... but they just look at the 4 or 5 grams per ton and think it's an instant winner.
It is better to have 1g/t of broad consistent 20m ore bodies.
CAI was destined to fail.
I'm no Geo but when one credible one says it's a bogus mine and the pit design is wrong, it probably is.
