    You are spot on in that observation.
    Gold is a unique product in that every dollar the price goes up is a dollar profit on the bottom line.
    It costs much the same to mine and process a ton of barren dirt as it does to mine and process bonanza grades.
    As long as a miner can cover ASIC every dollar over that is profit.
    There are no marketing costs, minimal transport costs and no risk of oversupply to the market.
    That is why in a gold bull market the stock prices of the big producers move first, the mid size miners second, the developers third and the explorers are the last to move, but they make the best percentage gains as long as they can demonstrate they have gold in the ground and a feasible plan to mine it.
