Let's look at what happened last year then. Announcement the day before the presentation like you both say.
What happened to the SP though?
Opened at $1.35 and closed at $1.34. 2 weeks later it was still at $1.30.
The year before - same thing -an announcement just before. The SP did a bit more that day but it was in the middle of a run from about 70c to $1. However, on that day it actually went down from 93 to 89c!
So I maintain my argument that they were not holding an announcement in case the raise went poorly for two reasons:
1) The raising was underwritten so why would they care?
2) These 'blockbuster' announcements don't even affect the SP.
You've even said it isn't 'material' to DEG, but it looks like it isn't 'material' to the average punter either. So, let's see what this year's 'blockbuster' announcement does to the SP. I'll be happy if it ends up propelling the SP but on past history it won't.
