    It's not so much a 53% reduction of the value of your shareholding, but a reduction of the proportion of the company that you own.

    Theoretically, the value of the company rises following a capital raising, so (if you don't participate in the CR) you now own a smaller percentage of a larger entity.

    If you owned 1% of a company and they increased SOI by 53%, you would now own 0.6536% of the revised entity.

    You are quite right, though, about the dilution argument. There is dilution, it's just not exactly equal to the increase of SOI.
