agree our 4 pillocks, sorry, pillars are a cartel, but that means they extract excess rent thru poor service, lower risk and high fees.

Agree previously monetary system was not the economy, but now - especially in Western society - value is measured worth (not goods produced by the individual). Argue therefore that a medium of worth needs to be transparent and available. Gold price and money value are both transparent (albeit fictions/bargains in terms of their actual value) however money is far more available and divisible than gold.

Therefore, money persists, even in failed economies.

What else would anyone hoard?
