    OK, what is the difference between a USD $1 note and whatever the equivalent is in gold dust???

    The utility will only ever be what someone is prepared to give you for it.

    No more and no less.

    Surely. ????

    If currency collapses, i can see the value in holding cows or sheep or acreage, but a shiny metal?
