I am a big fan of GMD and greatly respect leadership team
current GMD market capitalisation is circa $3 billion with incentives included and production around 200,000 pa
we are at the start of a gold boom … GDM have risen because of gold price … but they now need more to stay on and ahead of the curve
production profile outlined in annual report below
in my opinion … GMD need to make an acquisition that brings in another 150,000 ounces of immediate profitable production, with prospect of high grade growth (basically another meaningful stand alone mining hub) to eventually be adding 300,000 ounces to that profile.
Over on another thread at OBM … I have explained why the 2 companies would be a good fit and the obvious synergies
there will no doubt be other gold groups Raleigh is thinking about, but he really does now need to get a wriggle along.
Hawkes Point (33% shareholder of OBM) may sell to the highest bidder rather than the best long term partner for existing OBM holders … I think GMD would be a perfect marriage in heaven for both parties and every institutional investor in gold would need to have some.
