Evening Sandy, the US price of gold can stay where it is or drop a bit as far as I care-the A$ price is still very good ,being above A$550.
A proper mine will make a lot of money at these levels.
What the sector really needs to get the imagination firing is a decent/large new discovery.
Despite all the exploration activity over the past twelve months we have good hits by Troy, De Grey, A1 and one or two others, but nothing really spectacular. Everyone has been looking at mines being extended, old deposits polished up and the restructure out of larger companies(Bendigo, Ballarat,Perserverance, Argincourt, Legend, Westonia, Ashburton,etc).
Nothing creats more interest than a big new discovery and we are overdue,long overdue-only hope it is a junior that finds it. That will get the market out of its boring pattern when it comes to the gold secto!
