I can only say that I %100 agree with the speaker in the video (kinda wish he was running RED, NMG, and KCN), there has been a distinct lack of M&A between gold mining stocks, especially with all script bids (which IMO are the best way for a company to actually grow and succeed without wasting capital buying out shareholders, that own shares because they want to!).
