I'm as much as a raging gold bull as anyone and have been invested since 2001.

Over this period of time the 'gold to the moon' scenario always seemed just around the corner yet never seems to arrive. These extended timelines have tempered any sense of urgency and altered my investment strategy to only those companies that have a future in 3-5 years with a minimal gold price rise.

Investing in the marginal producers has been a rocky road and stressful. Investing in explorers has been relatively successful but not spectacular. Investing in well run low cost producers has been a more stable ride.

Gold and silver is now only around 50% of my portfolio, I've learned not to exclude other sectors that have just as compelling supply/demand scenarios as Gold, without the government manipulation.

Uranium for me has been spectacular, left the goldies for dead so it does pay to diversify.
