Thanks Andylgo. It is tough as you say. I do agree that the GFC is not over in spite of all the optimism. I think we'll see a small correction in the real estate market over the next few months especially if the rates go up again. Today's tax reform announcements may also have an effect. I have followed a group of shares for a few years now in different sectors - geothermal energy being one- and they have been slowly declining since the GFC along with my gold shares and for no good reason apart from lack of interest or available funds to invest. If I were you Michael27 I think I would be holding on to my cash right now to see which way the market goes - shares and real estate. I would feel fairly comfortable buying some physical gold in spire of the heading of this thread! I am keeping my eye out for bargains in the gold market and will try to pick near the bottom in my chosen ones. It needs patience.
