I am not a supporter of hedging, but just want to make the point that, by the time the new tax takes effect (if this idea actually survives), IGR gold hedging will be (largely) a thing from the past, so there is not much relation between the two. Please look at the timing of the two, the end of hedging and the potential intro of the new tax.
