To prove that our old mate the goblin has NFI take a look at the relationship between POG and lease rates over the LONG TERM on the lower most chart of the three graphs depicted at this site.

Quite clearly since 2001, the gold price has soared and lease rates have declined. As a short-term indicator lease rates are dodgy at best, but clearly, from the graph, long-term, lease rate decline is synonymous with a RISE in POG....
