you see, the problem with your question is that it's a completely false preposition. up to YOU to show us that it IS indeed strange that the gold isn't audited every single year. You need to provide evidence that

A) what you're saying is true (that they haven't audited it - how do you know? maybe they audit it every 3 months - how would you know if they didn't?)

B) if they haven't audited it - WHY this is strange. maybe they just count every bar when it goes in. Since no bars are coming out it would be pretty easy to know how much gold there is in there.

I remember a West Wing episode about this - some crazy guy comes in demanding to see with his own eyes that the gold in fort knox is really there. It seems that just because one decides to believe it isn't there - that immediately grants them the right to a personal tour of the building
