Yeah, the Treasury Bond auction ended Thursday in the States. Noone wants a high-ish gold price...or strength in the gold price when auctioning due to perception link between interest rates and gold price. It's a pretty clear link and pattern, auction coming up, gold comes off. Getting harder to do though, so the forces that be went for the double whammy. Bernanke couldn't have been more clear about interest rates not moving, but somehow in the reporting it came across that there were likely interest rate rises coming, so people dump gold and head to Treasuries.
The games go on, but if you want to follow someone, follow Soros. He knows the game and doubled up on gold 18 Feb just as downward pressure being exerted on gold.
Been buying up trading positions at these prices in anticipation of strong move up in gold and FML accounts being released in coming weeks.
