The overall action appears to be dollar-gold algo related but looking at a 1 minute on the dollar it appears to be a gradual decline with a bit of volatility around the time of the gold spike low to get the ball rolling.
This is simply another fraudster orchestrated operation.

A 1 minute on the dollar

GDX daily below with the false break lower then the reverse break higher indicating more upside to come but it will be down to the fraudsters.
