The 2015 Greek debt crisis caused a flurry of hopeful goldbug posts on the gold forum, I remember it well.
Goldbugs predicted the debt would send gold to outer space, but I could never figure out what all the excitement was about when the Greek economy isn't exactly massive, and why anyone would necessarily buy gold.
When the debt crisis occurred, the gold price dived and never really went anywhere for years.
