Gold has done extremely well in this environment. Not everyone lives in the USA. Have a look at gold in other currencies like EUR for example. If you put your EURs in the bank around September of 2018 you would have that EUR's with hardly any interest and your gold would have appreciated from around EUR1,050 to EUR1,724 now.
You can spin numbers however you want but gold has been appreciating nicely over the past 20 years. The question is, will it continue. I am sure you think it won't but neither of us has a crystal ball.
