Seems gold is controversial hey.... a few don't like it but spend a lot of time here strongly debating against it.
If you like it.... buy it. If you don't why be so critical about it? It goes up it goes down so what.
I bought some in the event something bad ever happens it gives me the ease to exchange into whatever currency I find myself in.
Thats why it is a store of wealth.
If you were Russian and wanted out of the country at the start of the war, then you were stuffed if all you held was rubles. Swift banking froze up. If you had precious metals then you could exchange those no matter where you were and be able to start again anywhere....Without it you would be penniless and good luck making it anywhere but a refugee camp/welfare.
