Last year there was massive retail demand for gold coins and the Perth Mint sold out of some items.
All the conspiracy nutters here were convinced that it would go bust/all their gold reserves had gone/
and that it was the beginning of the end. Now that it's back to business as usual no one mentions it.

There's nothing wrong with owning a bit of gold, but gold does attract a lot of strange people.
