It's not really surprising that gold held its value during the Weimar hyperinflation. Stupid politicians thought that printing large amounts of money was OK. You'd probably find real estate and other assets maintained value better than cash.
Hyperinflation won't happen again, despite what goldbugs reckon. Only maybe in backward countries like Zimbabwe.
