Very Very wrong. China and many other countries are using it to trade to avoid having to use the US dollar. This is why the central banks are buying gold so they can buy and sell in other currencies avoiding paying in US dollars as most trade is facilitated.They pay in local currencies and then covert it to gold and the reverse. They are using it as real money not fiat paper money.
